If you could do it all over again, would you? For me, the answer is yes.
One sleepless night of regret and reflection led me to a vivid dream—the remaking of The Moneytree. I realized the story wasn’t finished. There was more to tell, more to discover, thirty years later. Here’s a glimpse of that dream…
Three young filmmakers set out to uncover the mystery behind The Moneytree, a cult classic about a California weed grower in the wild days of prohibition. Though it gained a passionate audience and rave reviews, the film mysteriously vanished from the spotlight.
As they search for the outlaw father-and-son team who made the film, they learn that Alan, the director, has passed away, and Christopher, the producer, lives in a Death Valley trailer. At first, Christopher refuses to revisit the painful past, but when he sees the passion in these filmmakers, he opens up, sharing the untold story of why he and his father risked everything to make The Moneytree.
…this new version, The Moneytree – Final Trim, weaves the original film with fresh perspectives that only time can provide. It’s a story about the choices we make, the dreams we chase, and the surprising paths life can take—proof that destiny has a sense of humor. As my mother used to say, “If you want to make God laugh, tell her your plans.”
So let me ask: If you could do it all over again, would you?
