When I was a kid we knew the cops in our neighborhood and they knew us. I never saw them pull out a gun on anyone. On the side of the patrol cars it said "to protect and serve". No way, according to a crowd gathered Saturday (March 7) in Broadmoor to push for the release of Bernard Noble, convicted in 2011 as a habitual offender of possessing marijuana and sentenced to more than a dozen years in prison.
At the corner of Napoleon and South Claiborne avenues, dozens gathered in support of Noble, a New Orleans native and father of seven who is serving a 13.3-year sentence at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Jonesboro.

On March 24, cannabis oil activist Shona Banda‘s life was flipped upside-down after her son was taken from her by the State of Kansas. The ordeal started when police and counselors at her 11-year-old son’s school conducted a drug education class.
